Lorissa is a Registered Dietitian with a Master’s degree in Nutrition & Dietetics from North Carolina Central University. Her desire to help people in her community achieve their health goals birthed out of a concern for health disparities and food related illness in her family. After completing the dietetic internship at Meredith College, Lorissa set out to help others to take back control over their health.
Lorissa is also a Group Fitness Instructor, NC Lactation Educator, and plans to become a certified Diabetes and Education Specialist. She has experience in the areas of medical nutrition therapy, bariatrics, women and children’s health, diabetes education, renal disease and GI disorders. Her approach to nutrition involves empowerment through nutrition education, individualized meal planning, and setting realistic goals to help clients form a better relationship with food and fitness.
Outside of work, Lorissa enjoys teaching fitness classes such as Zumba and HITT. She also loves spending time traveling with her husband, son and golden doodle, as well as finding great local food spots to eat!
