What is considered high carb?
The official serving size for a high-carbohydrate food is the amount that includes 15 to 30 grams of carbohydrates. That is equivalent to a slice of bread, a third of a cup of cooked rice, or a half-cup of cooked pasta.
What is the difference between net carbs and total carbs?
The FDA recommends using total carbohydrates on the nutrition facts label. “Net carbs” are determined by subtracting any fiber or sugar alcohols on the label from the total carbohydrates.
What is considered high fat?
Per 100g of food – low-fat is 3g or less and low-saturated fat is 1.5g or less. Per 100g of food – high fat is 17.5g or more and high saturated fat is 5g or more
What is considered high protein?
The portion of total calories derived from protein is what defines a high-protein diet. In a typical diet, 10%-15% of daily calories come from protein. In a high-protein diet, this number can be as high as 30%-50%.
What is considered low carb?
Low-carb diets contain less than 26% of calories from carbs. For most people, that’s 520 calories from carbohydrate sources or 130g carbs per day. Very low-carb diets contain less than 10% of calories from carbs, or 20 to 50g carbs per day (80 to 100 calories).
What is considered low fat?

What is considered low protein?
A suggested acceptable level of protein in a low-protein diet is about 0.6g/kg of body weight per day or about 40 to 50 grams per day.
